Ideal size brush but mascara itself still clumps and dmudgesFinally a small brush for lower lower lashes. Can put it on and not smear it under eyes.I loved everything about this mascara. Works well as intended although I think is a bit expensive. This is one of the products I’ve ever used for lower lashes. I highly recommend this product.I really wanted this to work, but for me...it took too long to get the hang of it. This takes practice, practice, practice. I do just as well with my regular mascara. It sounded like a great idea, but I was not impressed.I am a natural redhead with “invisible” blonde eyelashes. I could never seem to apply my regular mascara to my lower lashes without achieving a “raccoon” effect. I have used this mascara for a couple of weeks. I Ike the applicator very much, but the product itself does not darken my lashes the way I want, and most certainly doesn’t make them look fuller. The small tube doesn’t contain much mascara for the price. I’m hoping to clean the applicator wand well and use it to apply my regular mascara to my wimpy lower lashes. For what it’s worth, the mascara did seem to stay on without smudging, and it didn’t cause any burning or irritation. With lashes being more sparse on lower lash line, I'd often wind up w/some clumps or a black blob after an accidental skin touch)- so did lower lashes painfully slowly to avoid. Opted to try this mascara after seeing product a few times (although not really wanting to add another daily product to my already too long as it is makeup regime, lol). Very glad tried it now though as noticed a nice difference. Easily got to the innermost lashes & as someone in comments I'd read while contemplating my purchase said - I find it makes for a great 1st base coat for upper & side lashes too as easier to get as close to lash line as possible. Use 2 coats on lower lashes & 1 on upper w/this, then top off bottom w/1 coat of regular mascara to build volume up (I use another Clinique mascara currently for that) & then my usual 2 coats regular mascara on upper lashes after the base coat that helps to separate the lashes. This on days I'm not running late for work naturally, otherwise grateful for 1 coat of each before dashing out door, but nice to see top & bottom looking fuller when given time to do full routine & no black blob accidents yet requiring q-tip cleanup. As I got older I found it hard to have good control while using the normal mascara with the longer wand. I once bought the Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara and found that it gave me great control for both my upper and lower lashes. Occasionally there is too much mascara on the brush (this happens with all brands) so I wipe a little off on a Kleenex. Definitely the shorter wand is helpful not only to me as a senior but as a senior with corrective lenses after cataract surgery.
