DESCRIPTION
These Steel Super Locks with -.050 install height feature a lash cap recess, 10 degree lock angle and .11/32" valve stem size. They are recommended for all race applications because Super Locks have a wider angle (10 degree) that better distributes the ever increasing valve spring loads over the retainer than typical 7 degree locks. Precision-machined out of super-tough, fatigue-resistant metal alloy, Super Locks fit any COMP Cams 10 degree retainer.

The standard comp 10 degree locks I had measured out at 1.952 to 1.954 installed height on all 16 valves. I figured that this -.050 lock from them would bring my installed height to about 1.900-1.905. Instead I struggled to get my height back up to 1.890 by having try multiple combinations of lock pairs on each valve. A royal pain. One lock half would pull the height down to 1.870 (-.083) no matter which lock half or retainer I used it with. Had to buy additional locks to get the height even close to what these are advertised to be. Inconsistent machining makes these a poor choice. And yes, I used Comp retainers too and checked them all on the same valve to make sure they were consistent. Look elsewhere, unless your installed height does not really matter.
