The glue is abysmal, but my methodical technique and persistence gave a phenomenal result. Note I did not mention patience. The glue was frustrating, and I believe it took 10x longer (not 5-7 minutes, more like a careful hour per each eye) for this newbie to ensure the shield and lashes were fully adhered. This was my first time doing DIY lash lift and I didn’t have any firsthand experience other than 5 years of professional services, with each lift sequentially lasting just a bit less longer than the one before, or starting to not take at all. I went from 6 weeks to 4 weeks to nothing more than a crimp for a few weeks and paying the same $100+ each time. I dusted off the mechanical lash curler, took 8 weeks off from services, conditioned my lashes, studied a few Youtube tutorials with the “Everyfemale” archetype (search words Amazon lash lift) a few of the manufacturer training videos (search Eleebana) ....and armed with the burning belief that “anything she can do, I can do better”, I ordered my first DIY lash lift kit. (With all due respect to the lash techs out there, this is a millennial YouTube revolution we live in)The glue was very difficult and non adhesive for my thick lashes. In retrospect I will experiment with different glue and different shields and create my own custom kit for next time. It was great being able to select my desired size and control the angle of the lift. I wanted a more extreme and loose lift/curl than what I had been getting and I was able to accomplish this by using the smallest size of shield included. The perming solutions provided were very effective. I bought disposable lash spoolies to brush out my lashes but using my well sanitized hand (and we are also in the Coronavirus age) was ultimately a better method. Instructions state to clean step 1 before applying step 2. I didn’t do this and the result was fine. I may have gotten lucky but so far, after a week, the results are great and lashes feel conditioned and not brittle. This is a good low risk kit to try out. If you are considering this, I would try to order with a different glue (Dolly has great reviews) to minimize some frustration and hopefully you can get even better results than me in half the time. The product does what it says! My eyelashes are ridiculously curled...it looks like I am wearing falsies! That being said, I can't give 5 stars for 2 reasons.1) I looked at several different kits, chose this one, even though it was more expensive, because it seemed more complete (had the under eye protectors, spoolies, and applicators). However, the 'extras' added no value - I ended up using q-tips to apply the chemical. AND this kit didn't come with the cleanser. Kind of imperative to have this since you can't use water to clean your lashes. I used coconut oil that I happened to have - but would not buy this kit again.2) There has GOT to be a better option for the 'pads'. I'm not sure if it was an issue with the glue or the pads themselves - but it was ridiculously impossible to get that thing stuck to my eyelid. I would venture a guess that it is the glue. Once I got the thing stuck on and glued my eyelashes in place, my lashes came unstuck as soon as the first chemical was put on. I ended up wrapping my finger in saran wrap and holding them in place.I guess because I’m not use to do my lashes myself, this is hard to apply. The product quality a curl ability is great. The adhesion ability is just so-so. However, if u just monitor your lashes and keep re-attaching them everything seems to work out rather well. I know waiting for the glue to become tacky helps tremendously. The ease of use is ok accept for the included directions are a little hard to understand. Like where it says to clean the eye lashes between each step. With what? It doesn’t say. It just says clean the eyelashes between each step. But yet your supposed to keep the eye lashes attached with the glue to the curler.. on you tube the new packaging doesn’t say to clean the eyelashes after the first step but it does say say to clean after the second step. This cleaner is provided with the kit. Which does tend to interfere with the adhesion of the lashes to the curler. So constantly smoothing the lashes up onto the curler becomes necessary. But when all is said and done my lashes turned out wonderfully curled regardless of this frustration. Am happy with the product and results. Arrived packaged good and on timeOkay so BE ADVISED this product worked the first time I used it and then stopped working every time after. I didn’t even wait long before the first application because 2 weeks later I used it on my mom. I did some research and found that lash lift products stop working when they become oxidized. It only take being exposed to 12 minutes of open air to be oxidized. Obviously my bottles have been exposed to this time already. It might be ultimately cheaper to just go get your lashes done somewhere than to keep buying kits. Or perhaps invest in a kit that comes with little individual packets such as Elleebana. Or just be very quick and maybe lay out some of the solution in a plate or something so you don’t keep your bottles open for long.
